The Benefits of Vaginal Rejuvenation

Everyone’s talking or thinking about it.  Vaginal rejuvenation – one of the most rewarding treatments a woman can do to improve the function and appearance of her most private areas. But why all the buzz? Because this sensitive topic treats problems that impact a huge percentage of women.

Common Vaginal Health Issues and The Factors That Cause Them

Over time, changes can occur in the vagina, including:

  • Decreased tightness
  • Diminished sensation
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Dryness
  • Painful intercourse
  • Alterations to the exterior appearance

There a variety of causes that can lead to these developments, including childbirth, hormonal influences, menopause, and just normal aging.  Depending upon the cause, tissues can be stretched, collagen content and elasticity may decrease, and lubrication may diminish.

Women who have given birth may notice that the birthing process has produced significant longstanding changes in their vagina. This can include vaginal looseness and urinary leakage. This loosening effect can also lead to decreased sensitivity during intercourse.

Post-menopausal women often suffer from a problem known as atrophic vaginitis.  This issue is related to normal hormonal changes that come with menopause that cause the tissues within the vagina to become thin and dry.  This can lead to painful intercourse.

The Power of ThermiVa

Many of these issues can be dramatically improved, safely and comfortably, with a simple outpatient procedure known as ThermiVa®.   Featured on The Doctors and in publications such as New Beauty, Elle, and Cosmopolitan, ThermiVa® has a greater than 90% patient satisfaction rate on Realself.com. For many women, this game-changing treatment can truly make a difference in their lives.

What is ThermiVa®?

ThermiVa® is a non-surgical procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to gently provide temperature-controlled heat to the vagina and surrounding vulva. The many benefits that may be seen with ThermiVa® include:

  • Improved vaginal tightness
  • Increased moisture
  • Enhanced sexual sensitivity
  • Diminished pain during intercourse
  • Elimination or diminishment of urinary stress incontinence
  • Improved cosmetic appearance

The ThermiVa® treatment is performed using a thoughtfully designed slightly curved handpiece. The small wand is used to treat the outside and inside of the vagina. The heat emitted by the device stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the tissues, which increases vaginal tightness and improves urinary incontinence. The heat also improves the flow of blood in the vaginal blood vessels, which enhances nerve regeneration and increased vaginal sensitivity.

What to Expect During Your ThermiVa® Treatment

The treatment is fast and easy to undergo and is performed in privacy in-office. A small wand is utilized to administer gentle heat to the vagina and labia. As the procedure is temperature controlled, heat is delivered at your comfort level. The procedure is non-invasive, and no anesthesia is needed. The treatment takes between 30 and 45 minutes to complete.

ThermiVa Recovery

You can return to your normal activities immediately after ThermiVa®. There is literally no downtime, and sexual relations can resume on the same day as treatment.

It is common to notice improvement in vaginal tightness and decreased urinary leakage after the first treatment, although continued improvement is seen with successive treatments. Significant improvement in the cosmetic appearance of the labia is also typically seen immediately after treatment.

For best and longest-lasting results, a series of 3 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart is recommended, with touchup treatments at 6 to 12 months.
