What is a Morpheus8 Treatment like?
Morphues8 should be well-tolerated when appropriate attention is given to patient comfort. It begins with application of a topical numbing cream to the treatment area, typically for about 45 minutes. Additional anesthetic techniques and/or administration of Pronox* are sometimes also utilized to ensure the best possible experience.
The treatment is delivered using a handheld device with highly customizable programmable settings for depth and energy delivery. The device is then moved over your skin as tiny micro-channels are created while energy is delivered to the tissues. In an overlapping fashion, the treatment is provided to the entire area of concern. Sometimes multiple passes are utilized to achieve desired results. During the treatment you may feel tiny needle punctures and warmth or your skin. The process can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour or more (depending upon the size of the treatment area). What to Expect After Morpheus8
Downtime after Morpheus8 is relatively minimal. After treatment you can expect some mild redness, swelling, and possible pinpoint bleeding, which are normal and temporary. A skin barrier (such as Aquaphor or Bacitracin) is typically also used to provide protection.
In the days ahead, applying a moisturizer and proper sunscreen is highly recommended. Most patients can return to work the day after the treatment.
Results of Morpheus8
The best results with Morpheus8 are obtained with a series of three treatments. Typically treatments are performed a month apart.
